Who we are
The Knowledge Hub is run by Agri Aware, the Irish agri-food education charity, who is the data controller for the personal details processed here. You can contact the team about anything in this notice at info@agriaware.ie.
What we collect
When you create an account we ask for your name, email address, school, your role and the class levels you teach, and the programme you are registering for along with your class group and pupil numbers. Your password is never stored readably — only a secure cryptographic hash of it.
Using the hub creates records too: when you log in, the resources you view, the videos you play, what you search for, what you save to favourites, event invitations you respond to, and forms you submit. We also keep a record of the account emails we send you and whether they were delivered and opened.
About pupils
We never collect pupil names or any other personal details about children. Teachers enter class pupil numbers only, and those counts are used solely for programme participation reporting.
Why we process your details
We use your details to run your account and give you access to your programmes' resources, and to send you the account emails the service needs (confirming your address, approvals, password resets). That processing is necessary to provide the service you signed up for.
Agri Aware's programmes are funded on the basis of participation, so we keep programme registration records and produce reporting for the charity's board and funders. That reporting is aggregated — counts by programme, school type and county — and does not publish individual teachers. We also look at which resources are viewed and searched for so the library improves. Both rest on Agri Aware's legitimate interest in running and accounting for its programmes.
Marketing email about new resources, programmes and events is sent only if you opt in, and you can opt out at any time — from your account page or the unsubscribe link in any marketing email.
Who processes data on our behalf
The hub runs on carefully chosen service providers: Supabase stores the database and handles logins (hosted in the EU), Postmark delivers account email, and Mailchimp handles marketing email for people who opted in. Videos play through Vimeo's player, which we embed with its Do Not Track setting enabled. The site itself is hosted on Vercel. If you ever pay for a booking through the hub, the payment is handled by Stripe — we never see your card details. Teaching content lives in a content system that holds no personal data.
Cookies
The hub sets only the cookies needed to keep you logged in, including your "keep me logged in" choice. There are no advertising cookies and no third-party analytics cookies.
How long we keep your details
We keep your account details while your account stays active. You can ask for your account to be deleted at any time: deletion removes your login and personal details, and anonymises the usage records that feed aggregate reporting so the programme statistics stay accurate without identifying you.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of everything we hold about you, have mistakes corrected, have your account deleted, or object to processing — email info@agriaware.ie and the team will handle it. Where processing is based on consent, you can withdraw it at any time. If you are unhappy with how your details are handled you can complain to the Data Protection Commission at dataprotection.ie.
Changes to this notice
If how the hub processes personal details changes, this notice will be updated and the date at the top revised.
